We’re excited to introduce AIRSKIN for the Yaskawa Motoman GP180 – expanding our safety solution to one of Yaskawa’s most capable industrial robot arms.

Built for heavy-duty work

The GP180 is designed for demanding industrial environments, offering up to 180 kg payload and a 2,702 mm reach. Its rigidity and performance make it a natural fit for tasks like heavy part handling, laser and spot welding, mechanical joining, and CNC machine loading – applications where strength and precision both matter.

Fenceless safety, even at this scale

By integrating AIRSKIN’s soft, pressure-sensitive safety system directly onto the robot, the GP180 can now operate safely alongside human workers – without the traditional fencing that heavy-duty robots usually require. Operators gain the freedom to work in close proximity, while the robot keeps its full payload and reach capabilities.

Real Use Case

AIRSKIN has already been paired with a Yaskawa robot in a real-world setting: together with our partner AAT Automation GmbH, we equipped an automated baggage loading system for airports, enabling safe, fenceless collaboration between operators and the robot in a compact, space-constrained environment.
