Fenceless Airport Baggage Handling
As airports face increasing passenger volumes and labor shortages, baggage handling operations require solutions that improve efficiency while reducing physical strain on staff.
Developed and integrated by our partner AAT Automation, the ABLE Mk2 (Automated Baggage Loading Equipment) automates the loading of passenger baggage into ULDs and baggage carts. The system combines a Yaskawa robot with AIRSKIN safety technology to support safe human-robot collaboration in a compact, space-efficient footprint.
Thanks to its fenceless design, operators can work safely in close proximity to the robot, while AIRSKIN provides collision detection capabilities that help create a safer working environment. The solution allows airports to optimize available space, streamline baggage handling processes, and reduce manual workload without compromising operational efficiency.
