On June 1st, we were on-site at the IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA) 2026 in Vienna – the flagship conference of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, and one of the most significant events in robotics worldwide. For the first time in its history, ICRA came to Austria, bringing together more than 9,000 participants and 196 exhibitors from academia and industry over five days at VIECON, Vienna’s congress and exhibition center.

It’s not every day that one of the world’s biggest robotics conferences takes place in your own city, so we made sure to be part of it.

What we showcased

We presented AIRSKIN on a KUKA Agilus robot, demonstrating fenceless human-robot collaboration to a highly specialized audience of researchers, engineers, and industry leaders -many of whom work directly on the technologies that make safe, close-proximity automation possible.

A conference that opened up to the city

ICRA 2026 wasn’t limited to the exhibition halls. As part of the event, the “Festival of Robots” brought robotics to the public at Vienna’s Karlsplatz, drawing an estimated 15,000 visitors and giving a broader audience a hands-on look at where robotics is headed.

As a Vienna-based company, having ICRA come to our home city was a fitting opportunity to connect with the global robotics community on our own turf, meeting researchers and industry peers who are shaping the same questions AIRSKIN was built to answer: how do we make human-robot collaboration genuinely safe, without sacrificing flexibility or space? And the answer is already there!
