AIRSKIN's Triumph at Hannover Messe 2024

At AIRSKIN, we believe in a future where industrial automation is open and flexible, which means fenceless and safe. That's why we were thrilled to showcase our innovative technology at Hannover Messe 2024, the world's leading trade fair for industrial technology.

KUKA Agilus, Cybertech, and Quantec, the industrious trio, cooperated seamlessly in a demonstration accessible from all sides. Together, they worked tirelessly to sort sweet waffles, a delicious treat stored in standardized E2 (Eurostandard) boxes. The AIRSKIN robots ensured precision and efficiency in every step of the process.

But the true success of our showcase was the opportunity for visitors to interact directly with the robots. With just a touch, they experienced the instant stopping power of AIRSKIN, demonstrating how it enhances workplace safety without the need for traditional safety fencing. It was a moment of realization for many – a glimpse into a future where humans and robots work side by side in harmony, without barriers or limitations.

SICK Visionary T-Mini

We integrated customized suction grippers equipped with SICK 3D cameras and AIRSKINs mounted on AIRSKIN Safetyflanges on two of the KUKA robots - Agilus and Cybertech. These cameras detected any irregularities or missing packages during the final quality control, ensuring that each box was filled as inteded.

The vacuum gripper on the KUKA Cybertech is protected by an AIRSKIN Safetyflange PRO, while the KUKA Agilus relies on an AIRSKIN Safetyflange 10. These safety measures not only safeguard the operators' fingers but also ensure the safety of the work tools, in this case the SICK camera, promoting a more seamless and secure operation.
