This article explains how AIRSKIN and KUKA made their combined technologies available to the automotive industry to create collaborative work environments on production lines.

In collaboration with InPro electric GmbH, AIRSKIN participated in a project at the Volkswagen Sachsen automotive plant. On the production line for the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5 and Audi e-tron vehicles, two KUKA Cybertech robots with AIRSKIN were integrated, that press in car door covers with a pressure of 50-100 N.

The AIRSKIN technology opens up new horizons with a safety system that meets the most demanding industry regulations without the need for additional fencing.
